August 21, 2016: Head to Head Yo-yoing

Not long after I wake up I go to breakfast with Calie, Clay, Lindzy, and Mark. Mark rides with me and on the way the truck shuts off again. He says it seems like the mass air flow sensor to him. At least someone else has been there to know what it does.

Breakfast is at Ogden breakfast. The food is great for me. While there I talk to Clay about the truck and he finds since cleaner at Home Depot. After breakfast we all go out to Smith Creek Park. They hit the water and I make laps on Clay’s bike. I intended to go swimming after a few laps, but we end up leaving after the fourth lap.

Five and a half miles, seven Charmanders, and a handful of eggs. I’d call that a decent day of Pokémon Go. From the park we head to the house. I try watching sling for a while, but the quality isn’t coming through very well today.

Later on I watch the first episode of Salem. It really seems like my kind of show. It’s about the Salem witch trials, but with actual witches involved. One day I plan on actually going to Salem. Clay goes to Home Depot shortly after I start the episode and is back before it’s over.

He got the cleaner and I head outside to help him put the boats, boards and bone away. After everything is put away I pop the hood and we take the Mass Air Flow Sensor out. It looks brand new, as dies the air filter. We clean it anyways, but there a chance the computer is just going out.

While I watch Salem, Calie makes an awesome dinner. Grilled chicken salad. The chicken is delicious and she just sort of threw together whatever she could think of. It’s always the most random things that turn out the best and are hardest to replicate. To go to bed I put on Netflix.

August 7, 2016: Astral Asteroid

Another really chill day. For most of it I just lie on the couch watching Netflix. I watch everything from Digimon and Archer to the Wonder Years and That 70’s Show.

For dinner there are burgers and hot dogs with watermelon following it. After dinner, Calie, Chris, Clay and I head out to Smith Creek Park for water fun. We kayak and paddle board around some. Three of us swim around the sandbar. Always does a lot to boost my spirit. While we are out, Calie and I also talk about cooking, pokémon go and my journal. I may actually have to weigh myself and reboot my Pokémon Go Journal entries in a new way.

Back at the house we unload everything. After showering I go back to Netflix. I watch Underworld and Underworld: Evolution. I forgot how much I loved these movies even if it is easy to point out silly things and make fun of them. I go to sleep watching Bob’s Burgers.

July 24, 2016: Enigmatic Mr E

I start my day with Netflix. I watch Leroy and Stitch. It’snot as good as the original movie, but still fun. I also try and start Stranger Things, but I don’t get ten minutes in before it’s time to go. Chris, Clay and I go to taco bell for lunch joined by Sean and Traviswho had already eaten.

From there we go back to Smith Creek Park. Clay borrowed another kayak so today all five of us go out for hours of paddling around and swimming. When we get back to shore we grab or phones and hit the Pokéstops before leaving.  I also manage to catch another Charmander.

After getting showered I try again to start Stranger Things. Again, I get maybe five minutes in before Sean and tennis come over. We order pizza for dinner and try a game Clay head learned to play. Archipelago is an interesting game. I think I’d enjoy it more the fourth or fifth time playing when I understand what I’m doing better. That being said, I somehow won.

After everyone heads out and to bed, I again start Stranger Things. I get through the first episode before it’s time I go to sleep myself, but I really really think I’m digging it. Didn’t hurt that they start by playing D&D, even if figures didn’t come into play for many years to come.

Meet 22, 2016: Burton Indecent

I wake up at nine and prepare for another day of crashing on the couch. I feel a little better than I had the day before. Sometime around ten Clay announces that he and Calie are going kayaking/stand-up paddle boarding soon and asks if I want to go. I think about declining, but I push past my mind and get up to get ready to go.

We leave around eleven and head over to Calie’s sisters to get the stand-up paddle boards, a gas station and then to Smith Creek Park. It’s probably the nicest park I’ve seen in a while. A little playground, paths to run and an awesome view of the lake. Would be a nice place to just chill out and write.

We carry everything down to the water and I start off with the paddle board. Turns out I have very bad balance. I do manage to stand up though. I’m on my feet for about a minute and acutely standing up for thirty seconds max. Down I go.

I swim back to the dock, paddle in hand. The water is much colder than I expected. Clay and Calie wrangle the board and get it back to the dock. Clay let’s me take the kayak and he gets on the board. Unlike me, he has really good balance. He makes it look natural to be standing on water.

We go all the way out to the far side of the lake and Clay investigates the far point. I was expecting a creek to come off of the lake, but there isn’t. Not sure why they call it Smith Creek Park when it’s actually a lake, but I love the place. All that is left at that point is to head back to the dock. It feels like it takes less time to get back than it did going out.

Around twelve thirty we’re on our way home. I get a shower and then eat the leftover bratwurst burgers from last night for lunch. I again spend the rest of my day watching TV and reading comics, but today my exhaustion comes from actually doing something. I need more adventures like today in my life and more spontaneity.

For dinner Calie makes her own version of Pollo Rosa Maria and it’s delicious. She also gets salad dressing for me and leaves lettuce for me so I can also have a salad. She always goes out of her way to do awesome things for everyone. I really appreciate it.

The rest of my night is spent watching Netflix. I watch a few episodes of Grounded for Life first. I had forgotten how much I loved this show when it first came on. Next up is Clerks. I will never get tired of that movie.

Finally around eleven I put on Bob’s Burgers to fall asleep to. Two hours later I do just that.
